I'm a photographer. I travel. In fact, I travel a lot. My next trip will probably be to Lima, Peru, possibly Bogota, Colombia - I don't know. Central America? Any suggestions?
I take pictures when I travel. I know, I know... the word "pictures" is a sin in most (ahem) "industry" cirlces. Trust me, I've heard it all before. "Artistes" like us should hold our noses in the air and say we "capture photos" and " expose images," right? My mistake - forgive me.. I'll have to work on that. Anyway, take a look at my pictures. (wink!) If you like mine and I like yours, then we should shoot.
Working with me won't be an inspirational, life-changing epiphany where the sky opens up and beams of light come streaking down from the heavens. You will enjoy it, though, and you won't have to pay for anything - except, obviously, for your accessories. It will be an enjoyable, half-day or full-day photo shoot (sometimes overnight) with some nice results. It is what it is and we do what we do because we enjoy our chosen crafts. That's why we're here, isn't it?
Instead of broadening my range and "diversifying" my portfolio (I'll leave that for the stock market), I'm more interested in focusing on one style and doing it well. Much like going to a concert and hoping the band plays your favorite song. They play it night-in and night-out, you love it, and they do it well every time. Just for you. If you want a broad range of variety, work with a broad range of photographers. I'm more than content to be a small part of your diversified portfolio should you like my work and decide to shoot with me. You see my photos, you have a pretty good idea what to expect at a shoot.
Oh, and after travelling through Europe and shooting so comfortably and casually with so many mature-minded models, I've decided that I'm really tired of seeing childish American models writing things like, "I won't do nudes, so don't even ask!" If you don't want to shoot nudes, that's fine. Just say so. What gets me, though, is the parental, condescending tone of that final military order: "Don't ask." It's also the false assumption that there is something inherently disrespectful about nudity. So, in the same vein, to those kids who take such a harsh, judgmental stand against nudes, I'd like to say, "If you WON'T shoot nudes - implied or higher - do us both a favor, save your breath, and don't bother contacting me. I'm sorry that you think your own body is vulgar and obscene." It's not. I have never viewed it that way - and I never will.
Honestly, I really don't mind models who won't shoot nudes. What I don't like are models who take a moral, philosophical, and political stand against it; who act like you're the reason society is crumbling around us; and who treat you like you should burn in Hell for even considering the possibility. They almost sound as if they don't have complete control over what they will and won't do. Or maybe they're taking such a strong stance publicly to try and fend off their own pent-up, privately held temptations! That's it, isn't it! ha! Gotcha!
The truth is, society could probably benefit quite a bit from loosening-up their undies and liberating their inhibitions with a little more nudity in their lives (with that kind of exposure and public review, we might even have fewer obese people, who knows?). So, yes, actually I *will* shoot non-nudes, but only if you're an absolutely outstanding model who will make people's eyes pop when they view my portfolio. I do pay models for nude sessions, and nude sessions will always take priority over non-nude sessions. Again, I don't mind that you won't shoot nudes, I just don't like those who pass judgment on others who do. The world is polarized enough as it is. Trust me, I know - that's why I'm in Jalalabad, Afghanistan, right now (fighting for your right to pose nude! - wink!). I rest my case... 'nuff said.
You are my Knight in Shining armour.. My feet just float across the floor when i think of you. A Photographer and Artist as your self...should never have to defend any thing that you do.. your work and pictures speak for themselves. its you who keep us , we models.. going.. always wanting to do bettter. You make me want to shoot for the sky..You have no idea how happy you made me... MrA or anyone else hasnt the power to drive anything between us...wild horses couldnt keep me away.. xoxo Phoebe
